Life as we know it

Truth is we know very little at all. We learn a lot through experiences, hardships, laughter, love, listening, and those times when we spew our emotions randomly and uncontrollably without thinking of the consequences. Life as we know it is raw. One day everything can be peachy perfect and the next day a catastrophic apocalypse. We can live innocently and naively happy until one day we get slapped in the face with a realistic view of raw-this-is-how-it-works-in-the-real-world revelation.
We all form our own interpretation based on our personal life-as-we-know-it-experiences which often times tend to be very individualize as each of have a predestined path and our own genetically inclined way of adapting and reacting to situations. What I feel we should all learn and share, what I feel is the one key to helping us survive is ACCEPTANCE.
The ability to acceptance, live and let live, the ability to at times sit back and allow life to take it's course might make life a bit more pleasant and simpler. If we spent a little more time accepting, instead of being upset, or attempting to figure out WHY, we might be able to appreciate the brighter aspects of the situation. We might be able to smile and be content in the current situation life-as-we-know-it has posed to us at the time.
Now in no way am I saying to give up all your rights and powers to make change, influence and affect our life, our world, but know when to pick and choose your battles, know when to stay quiet, know when to give in and not feel vulnerable....Know when to Accept.
If this offers any consolation, accept knowing that it is in your God's hands.

Your Life Between Those Legs

LADIES PAY ATTENTION:
"The number of women living with HIV is on the rise in every region. Today the face of AIDS is increasingly young and female," said Peter Piot, head of UNAIDS.
Okay, so i'm going to promote the ABC approach which is abstinence, be faithful, and use condoms...and this is applicable to both men and women. They have female condoms, if he won't wear one, then you should. And if he doesn't want to wear one, then maybe you should reconsider who you are dealing with because you're sacrificing you life when you don't. Wearing a condom protects you both, not just from HIV but from STD's.
Let's start our own blogging campaign to raise awareness and as the article states start putting woman's safetly first. We play so many roles in life, mother, daughter, wife, friend, sister, cousin, professional...we are survivors...but from this disease...there are never survivors! This is one role, one face we DO NOT WANT!
Check out the article I linked above.

Self Help For Women

So if you click above you'll find a postive website created for women. Regardless of how confident some may be, I am certain we all struggle at times or with a particle issue we are unhappy about that affects our self esteem.
Well, while doing some research for work I came across this website which offers a self-esteem test and will offer some postive feedback. It was pretty interesting, and I was able to honestly answer most of the questions. It's not created like some test, where you really can't or don't have an answer to the question which might even be irrelevant.
The site also has a message board where you can discuss any issue women may face today and definitely find someone who can relate. It's a good start if you are looking for self-help guidance.

CHRISTMAS SHOPPING

HA HA! I laugh at the shopping craze this year. Why? Well, one, because my Christmas shopping is DONE. Mind you, I did my shopping right at my desk while I worked. The wonders of technology. I shopped online and got free shipping! Amazon.com and babycenter.com were too of my favorite sites to shop for children gifts. Lastly, I manage to purchase 8 children gifts for under $100. My pockets were so happy after that shopping session that during my lunch break I went out and bought myself a pair of Diesel's that were on sale for 30 bucks. Can't go wrong folks...online shopping, free shipping, and a chance to compare prices have put a smile on my face instead of a headache this year.
But before I conclude this post I must remind us that even though Christmas is a time of gift giving and celebration, we must not forget the real gift. The gift our God granted us, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. So take a moment, during the Christmas shopping fiasco, and thank him for what you have, what your giving, and what you'll be getting this Christmas. Peace!

Bragging Ma-Mo

My son is WALKING...AHHHH.....time to house proof. So his first real steps were on my birthday. I came home from work, kneeled down on the floor and watch him take about 9 steps into my hug. Now he's a pro! I can't get over this, he just gets up and walks away from me and into another room. I remember when I use to lay him on the center of the bed and know that if i left the room, when i returned, he would be in the very same spot. Now he's mobile and although it keeps me extra busy...it's tons of fun.
He's also very loud...he sings one word songs like his lastest hit "yeah-yeah" or the last single "dadadadddada-da" which his father is convinced was made specially for him.
These milestones are exciting and coming all so soon. I'm afraid i'm going to turn around and hear him say "hey mom, can i get some cash so I can get some new jordans"....uh oh!
