The First Time

Do you remember your first time? The anxiety or excitement that ran through your body. The feeling of independence as you made a life changing decision and embarked on a journey that might change you forever. Some might have even experienced a thrill of power....as they entered the booth, pulled the curtain, and for about what lasted only seconds...secretly placed his or her vote.
Well I have yet to vote and mark my perference on who would be the best leader of the free world because of my age. But this year, on November 2, 2004 will be my first time. For those of you around my age, who finally get to experience this historial moment and actually have a say in it, i ask you to join my on my first time, on our first time and VOTE.

No More Red Soxs in My Drawer

So i fall asleep in the middle of the game, Red Sox are winning and i'm thinking yeah, whatever, the Yankees are invisible they'll make a come back and i'll hear about it in the morning. Suddenly I awake to honking and cheering from the streets. I could tell there was a mixed sense of energy coming from outside because some of the commotion did not sound cheerful. I turn the news on to discover that the Red Sox won and are off to the World Series. WHAT? I run to my window which faces a major avenue and see a few crowds of happy, shocked, and upset fans. Honestly I never thought I would be able to wittness a day like this...sad night in MLB History...I think i might even go through out all my red soxs...get rid of the memory.

Subway thoughts of a 22 year old Parent

I'm on my 45 minute train ride to Wall Street this morning and I catch my train of thoughts go from "Nice shoes, he smells, why is she talking to loud, your ugly, i want to sit down, shit, i forgot my book, oh those are some great boots to "Lalalala, Lalalala, Elmo's world!" Not to mention I caught myself happily singing that twice.
Oftens times when we take a thinking break we'll get a mental attacked of an annoying but catchy chorus or our favorite song, which we'll repeatedly entertain unknowingly until something else captures our attention. But a 22 year old singing elmo's world...Life as a 22 year old parent.
